After the long wait, I finally got this custom dakimakura ordered and it arrived! It's amazingly detailed and beautiful, and my stupid camera can't capture how amazing this is! The camera flushed the color and didn't capture all the details, it really is something best seen in person. The flame in King Dragneel's (left) hand is so warm looking, the colors glow so naturally, and you can see the lines of his hand within!
Little Natsu Dragion (right) came out adorable as well, but I think I may have made his neck a little long or his shoulders a little broad and fragile looking, but he is the Uke side of the pillow XD
Anyway, I'm very pleased with the results of this purchase! I'll be getting custom pillows from the seller from now on with anything I create, it's so beautifully printed!
Also, if you want a custom dakimakura, shoot me a line and we'll talk~ I can draw a lot of things OuO
You could set pre-orders exclusively for fans to pay in advance and order them from people who make them, that could be a way to do it. I don't know of a place that has them in shops like t-shirts and mugs are, but there's hope for that in the future, at least I think so. OuO
On ebay, look up custom dakimakura. Printers in China take your images and print them on these pillow cases OuO It's also possible to get custom wall scrolls and bed sheets, maybe even blankets but I haven't checked that yet. You have to have a VERY LARGE image file though. The proportions have to be right and the pixels have to be high quality level for the image to come out on something that big OuO/
Ah yes, the old 'does no justice' XD I can envision how amazing it would be in real life though.
I bet it was so exciting to finally receive it. Even when I get my books printed, it's such a thrill to see an item you've designed. Especially when they do an amazing job on the colours and print.
This looks super awesome amazingly cool though!
And it is! I just love it! ~<3
They also get the product to you really quick depending on location OuO/
